Struggling with what to do this Father's Day? We've got you covered!
We've rounded up our favorite, out-of-the-box, ideas for spending the day with good 'ol dad.

Give the Gift of Outdoor Adventure

  • The Forge: Lemont Quarries. Zipline over quarry lakes, climb the country's largest high ropes challenge courses, play laser tag or archery battle tag, casually explore miles of flat hiking, running, and biking trails with friends and family.
  • WhoaZone at Whihala Beach is the area’s best kept secret featuring a beautiful white sandy beach on Lake Michigan, lots of parking, restrooms, concessions and a safe place for summer family fun!

Go on an Escape

  • The Abbey Resort celebrates Father’s Day Sunday, June 16, 2024 by inviting all fathers, grandfathers and father figures to relax, rejuvenate and unwind at Lake Geneva’s only full service resort. Dads can escape and indulge with a Harborside Champagne Brunch from 9am-1pm and/or enjoy live entertainment during the Burnin’ Down the Docks music series from 12pm–4:30pm.

See a Show

  • Take Dad/Grandpa to see Jazz in June: Battle of the Big Bands with Kurt Elling at Ravinia.
  • Rock & Roll Playhouse Plays the Music of The Grateful Dead for Kids at Thalia Hall, at 11:30am, on Father's Day.
  • Catch the classic Father/Son movie, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade over brunch at The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema or go a day early for the Family Party with Inside Out 2.

Catch a Game

  • The Cubs play the Cardinals on Father's Day at 12:05pm
  • The Chicago Dogs have a home game at 3pm. Family Sundays include a Catch on the Field, Autographs, $3 Bottomless Popcorn, and $3 Bottomless Fountain Drinks.
  • The Schaumburg Boomers will play at 1pm. The first 1,500 fans will receive a Boomers Baseball Cap. They will also have a pre-game catch on the field, and post-game autographs. You can also reserve a spot at a pre-game buffet in the Schaumburg Club!

Play Together

So many great things to choose from, but most importantly, just be together.  Happy Father's Day!
