It's that time of year again...time for summer reading programs! Keep your kids and yourself reading and maybe even win some prizes in the process. Check out what's being offered at our local libraries in Skokie, Niles, Park Ridge, and Far Northwest Chicago!
Chicago Public Libraries
The theme this year is #FindYourRhythm with music-themed activities for all ages. There will be events sponsored by the Old Town School Folk Music and the Jazz Institue of Chicago.
Complete the program when you:
- Read Something: Read at least 500 minutes. Read books, eBooks, comics or anything you want for at least 20 minutes a day.
- Do Something: Do at least five activities. Take part in a library event, create art, write a story or try something new.
Turn in your completed log (English or Spanish) to a Chicago Public Library location by August 4, to earn a t-shirt! (While supplies last)
When: June 8 - August 4

Who: Kids 0 - 13 years old.
Eisenhower Public Library District
Read and track your minutes for a toy prize at 100 minutes and a book prize at 500 minutes and be entered into a drawing to win one of the Grand Prizes, a $150 Dick’s Sporting Goods gift card, $150 AMC Theatres gift card, or $50 Roblox gift card!
When: June 1 - August 3

Morton Grove Public Library
Log your reading and participate in weekly activities to earn all sorts of prizes. Listening to audiobooks and reading together as a family count too!
When: June 1 - July 31
How: Children from birth through entering 8th grade can register online here anytime during the month of June and arrange for pick up of materials. Teens and adults, complete this online entry form after reading books, watching movies, playing games, listening to music, or participating in online library programs.
Who: All ages
Niles-Maine District Library
The more you read, the more prizes you can earn and the more grand prize drawing entries you'll receive. There are programs for kids up to 6th grade, kids in grades 7 - 12 and adults. The program will culminate with Reading Pool Parties on August 7th and August 9th.

Park Ridge Public Library
Read and track your minutes for 30 days for a chance to win a prize book and more.
When: June 7 - August 10
How: Visit the library website for details on how to register and to download a reading log.
Who: For all ages.
Skokie Public Library
Read or do an activity to complete a log booklet to receive prizes.
When: June 1 - July 31
