Take Kids Out to the Ballgame

Fourteen Reasons Why

By Debra Flanagan, Publisher April 10, 2024

If you have been wondering if a Cubs game at Wrigley Field is family-friendly, the answer is a resounding yes, and here is why:

  1. With the inclusion of a lactation pod and stroller parking, even the youngest of children can be brought to a game.
  • The Mamava Suite is located near Gate 4.
  • Stroller parking can be found next to the Addison “L” station.
  • You can also bring a diaper bag, with whatever you need for your baby, into the stadium.
  • Children ages 2 and under do not need a ticket as long as they sit in your lap.

Pro Tip: Get seats in the shade (typically Terrace Reserved), and get ear muffs for babies.

2. Toddlers through tweens can Run the Bases postgame on Sunday afternoons.

3. Kids meals are available at select concession stands, and with the new grab-and-go options, lines have been significantly reduced.

4. If kids get ancy, bring them out to Gallagher Way to stretch their legs, have a catch, and run around without missing a play on the 40ft video screen.

5. Register your kids for Clark’s Crew membership.

  • This year your child will receive a bucket hat, a foldable backpack, a wall flag, pencil case, a mug, and a member ID card.
  • Additionally, kids get fast-pass privileges to Run the Bases on Kids Sundays, free admission to a Wrigley Field tour, 10% discount off Cubs Baseball Summer Camps, 10% off merchandise at the official Cubs Store, and the opportunity to participate in member-only special events throughout the year, which can include a catch on the field, watch parties, ice skating with Clark, player Meet & Greets, etc.

6. Get “First Timers” a free First Timers Certificate to commemorate their first visit to Wrigley Field. First Game Certificates. Certificates can be found at the First Timer’s Booth in the main concourse.

7. If you are celebrating a birthday, you can get a free “It’s My Birthday” sticker from fan services.

8. If you have any big Cub fans at home, they might be interested in seeing the players enter the stadium from the player’s parking lot across the street. Players typically arrive four hours before game time, but you will always see a small crown on Waveland, (near the fire station), waiting for their arrival, hoping to get an autograph.

9. If you live in zip codes 60613, 60614, 60640, or 60657, join the Wrigley Field Neighbors mailing list for invitations to special family-friendly events and concert pre-sales. Visit the Cubs front office at 1101 W. Waveland with proof of address to sign up.

10. Many games present promotional items such as player bobbleheads, shirts, hats, etc. to the first 5,000-10,000 arriving fans. You can check the promotional item schedule for specifics.

11. There are dozens of Special Ticket Offers for themed games, such as Shark Week Night, or Star Wars Night, even Sesame Street Night, that come with special edition cross-promotional items.

12. Come September, be on the lookout for the School Night Special Value Offers, which include a game ticket, a hot dog, and a non-alcoholic beverage.

13. Depending on when the game is and the match-up, you can find tickets for as low as $15 in the upper tiers.

14. Don’t forget your college kids (ages 18+) can also receive student ticket offers by texting CUBSU or 88019 to opt in.
