Brookfield Zoo Offering Family Fun During Fall at the Zoo

October 17, 2020

With this year’s Boo! at the Zoo canceled to ensure the safety of all zoo guests and staff, there are five fall-tastic reasons to visit Brookfield Zoo this fall

As families and friends throughout the Chicago region look for creative ways to enjoy fall amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chicago Zoological Society and Brookfield Zoo are offering zoogoers fall-tastic fun during Fall at the Zoo, while enjoying and learning about animals of all kinds—including Ahava, the three-month-old snow leopard cub.

Last Chance to Experience Dinos Everywhere!
The zoo’s earth-shaking exhibit of more than 40 animatronic dinosaurs all throughout the park, Dinos Everywhere! is open through November 1. Visitors will get to experience Dinos Everywhere!, including the largest Argentinosaurus—estimated to measure more than 100 feet in length and weigh up to 110 tons—free with admission.

Enjoy Seasonal Food and Drink

Fall-inspired food and drink will be available to zoogoers, including:

· A self-guided beer tasting

· Pretzels with beer cheese

· Bratwurst and sausages

· Hot chocolate and spiced wine

· Cinnamon sugar pretzels

· Grilled corn

· Chili

Take in the Fall Foliage

Since the opening of Brookfield Zoo in 1934, the Chicago Zoological Society has held a leading international reputation for animal care and conservation, as well as providing a unique and natural experience for guests to enjoy via its many trees, flowers, and foliage. As an accredited arboretum, the zoo’s expansive walking trails offer visitors picturesque, tree-lined walks, and the zoo's historic Roosevelt Fountain is surrounded by an array of color, thanks to the bright yellows, reds, and oranges of changing leaves during autumn. The zoo's vibrant and flourishing landscape includes both native and nonnative trees. Visitors can download resources to help them identify trees and guide their walk through the grounds.

Wear Your Costumes and Take Part in a Selfie Contest

Kids are encouraged to come decked out in costume and participate in an array of selfie contests by taking pictures in several giant photo frames throughout the park. All fall, the zoo will be giving away fun prizes to guests who snap a selfie at one of its selfie stations and share it on social media with the hashtag #BrookfieldZoo.
