Publisher's Column - August 7, 2020

By Lindsay Keller, Publisher of Macaroni Kid Skokie, Niles, Park Ridge, and Far Northwest Chicago August 8, 2020

I feel like ever since COVID-19 hit I've been scrambling to pull myself together. First it was, what am I going to do with my kid? I have all this free time but nothing to do. Then it was, let's enroll in virtual classes--almost none of which my toddler wanted to pay attention to. We finally made it through her virtual dance recital classes this week, and now it's time to prepare for preschool at home, mom and dad style. Nope, I don't have any idea what we're doing or how we're doing it.

But we did manage to take a vacation. Vacations have changed too, but you can still take a vacation. Maybe take just a day trip. Maybe stay overnight and go camping. Maybe drive to another city to see your family and stay at their house instead of your own, like we did. Sometimes we just need a little break to refresh our minds from all the crazy. That's where I was last week. But now we're back and trying to figure out what to do next, just like everyone else.
