Fall is my favorite season. I love apple cider, falling leaves, carving pumpkins and the whole nine yards. Luckily for us, there is no shortage of fall family fun in Skokie, Niles, Park Ridge, far northwest Chicago and the surrounding area this weekend. Check out these local options:
Fall Fest at Gladstone Park
When: Friday, October 4, 2019 from 5 pm to 9:30 pm
Where: Gladstone Park, 5412 N Menard Ave, Chicago, IL 60630
What: All kinds of family fun! There will be pumpkin decorating, a costume contest (with judging at 6:30), bounce houses, face painting, a raffle, concessions and Hotel Transylvania 3 will be playing at dusk (about 7 pm).

Family Fall Fest 2019
When: Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 1 pm to 5 pm
Where: Parkway Bank Park, 5501 Park Place, Rosemont, IL 60018
What: Think pumpkin painting, live music, bounce houses, a petting zoo, face painting, a balloon artist and more!
Cost: Free
Devonshire County Fair
When: Sunday, October 6, 2019 from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm
Where: Devonshire Cultural Center, 4400 Greenwood St, Skokie, IL 60076
What: All kinds of family fun! There will be games, hay rides, inflatables, a petting zoo, circus acts, a performance of Heroes & Princesses, student DJs from The Spin Project, food, live music and more!
Cost: $12/ person for a book of event tickets, $30/family of 4, or $2/ticket
Eddie Biondo Fall Fest Parade & Pumpkin Fest
When: Sunday, October 6, 2019. The parade is 1 pm to 2 pm and Pumpkin Fest starts at 2 pm
Where: The parade starts at the intersection of Grand Ave. & Scott St., heads east on Grand, then north on 25th Ave (Rose St.) and ends a Addison Ave. & Scott St. (North Park). Pumpkin Fest will take place at North Park, 10040 Addison Ave, Franklin Park, IL 60131.
What: After watching the parade, there will be music, games, crafts and more at Pumpkin Fest!

32nd Annual Lincoln Square Ravenswood Apple Fest
When: Saturday, October 5, 2019 & Sunday, October 6, 2019 from 9 am to 6 pm
Where: Lincoln Ave between Lawrence and Eastwood in Chicago
What: Apples, apples, apples! There will be all kinds of food and drinks, live entertainment, a kids zone, vendors and more!
Cost: $5 suggested donation
