Roden Library Temporarily Closing

By Lindsay Keller, Publisher Macaroni Kid Skokie, Niles, Park Ridge and Far Northwest Chicago November 9, 2018

The words that no parent wants to hear: library closing. And this time it's not just the children's area, but the whole library that needs renovations. Roden Library, part of the Chicago Public Library system in Norwood Park, is scheduled to be closed for renovations from Monday, November 12, 2018 through Monday, December 3, 2018. The good news it that it's just temporary and there are a number of other libraries close by that will remain open. Nearby Chicago Public Library branches include:

The bad news is that all of the Roden branch programming including playgroups, story time and book clubs have been cancelled. They are scheduled to resume in December when the library re-opens. Keep an eye on the MacKid Calendar to see when classes will resume. If you're checking out books in the next couple of days, they won't be due back until the library re-opens. And if renovations take longer than expected, your due date will be extended. But you are always welcome to drop off your books at any Chicago Public Library branch that remains open if you choose.

For now, we look forward to seeing a new and improved Roden Library in December!
