My daughter informed me that St. Patrick's Day is the equivalent of Christmas to her, so I went on a desperate search of things to do to celebrate! As I put this together, year after year, it both amazes and thrills me how much Chicago celebrates St. Patrick's Day.

Edison Park Irish Sunday Funday (Edison Park)
Edison Park is turning green on Sunday, March 8th! Come and support our local businesses. From live Irish music to green deals, you won't want to be anywhere else!

Celebrate St Patricks Day. Tickets includes leprechaun treasure hunt and Shamrock Shake Bar.

St. Patrick's Celebration at Begyle Brewing (Northcenter)
We’ve planned a full day of St. Paddy’s celebrations in the taproom and are starting out bright and early by showing the Ireland vs. Scotland rugby match at 9am! And then from 1-3pm The Old Town School of Folk Music will be playing traditional Irish music in the taproom.
Starting at 2pm, grab some tasty tacos and more from the El Zorro Tacos truck! Did we mention that we’ll be enjoying $5 pints of Dicey Riley, our Irish-Style Red Ale, ALL DAY?

St. Patrick's Day at Gallagher Way (Lakeview)
Enjoy traditional, live Irish music and Irish dance performances, as well as kid-friendly entertainment like face painting, balloon artists, a lawn games, and more! While you’re shamrock-ing and rolling to authentic Irish music, make sure you grab a glass of our green beer, Irish coffee, hot chocolate, or specialty cocktails to sip on while playing your favorite lawn games on the green space.

One of Chicago’s favorite St. Patrick’s season traditions — a weekend full of craic, culture, and celebration! 🎶 Live music and dancing throughout both days 🍀 Family-friendly activities & kids’ zone  🍽 Food, drinks, and festival favorites  🎉 Crafts, games, and community fun

St. Patrick's Day at the Irish American Heritage Center IAHC (Albany Park)
Sure, St. Patrick’s Day is on a Tuesday, but that has never stopped us from having fun and celebrating, and we’re here to do it again this year! The Fifth Province Pub will be open and ready for music, drinks, and fun! Tickets are sold at the door – $15

Wild Fire St. Patrick's Day Corned Beef Plate (River North & Glenview)

Cook the Book: How to Catch a Leprechaun
This is a caregiver and child class, please register each person in your party. No one will be sitting on the sidelines! Kick off a little St. Patrick’s Day fun with a hands-on family baking class! Families will start in the kitchen, working together to mix, shape, and bake traditional Irish soda bread. While the bread bakes, we’ll gather to read How to Catch a Leprechaun and enjoy the cozy break together.

Menu: Pot o' Gold Cake Pops
This class is for ages 5-11 These cake pops are so fun to make! Using cake, buttercream, melting chocolate, and a few other Leprechaun tricks, students will form their own cauldrons that are overflowing with gold and a rainbow!
