GIVEAWAY: COLLEGE SAVINGS DOLL

By Kristie Glascock December 1, 2014
I had the pleasure of meeting with Sarah Dugo, Founder and CEO of the College Savings Dolls, at the Chicago Toy and Game Fair last week.  Did you know these dolls are made right here in Schaumburg? Sarah was so kind as to give my daughter their Deanna doll to try and also a Jessica doll for us to giveaway to one lucky Skokie Macaroni Kid reader!  More info on the giveaway will be at the end of this article.

The College Savings Dolls were designed to give girls a realistic, positive role model to play with that also promotes future career choices for young girls.  Girls will spend hours playing with these dolls with playful imagination of graduation as well as career role playing.  My own daughter immediately spent hours herself with Deanna, and she has become a staple amongst her other dolls that she plays with.  Something she especially loves is the cap and gown that the doll comes with.  She never had a graduation outfit for her dolls to play in and role play with so that has been her focus this past week.  It's all about imagination, isn't it!

Not only are the College Savings Dolls fun to play with, the website comes with information to get girls thinking about saving for college.  I don't know about you, but I have put that as my own responsibility - to save for our kids college education.  I never thought about having the kids take on some of that responsiblity themselves.  Afterall, if they work hard to help save a bit for it as well, they just may appreciate it more because they were involved in the whole process. Plus saving ahead for college makes so much more sense than burdening your child with student loans as they start out on their career path.

Currently the dolls are sold online at just $49 per doll.  On the back of each box is a way to register your doll and enter for an annual college scholarship drawing.   Use code Freeship 2014 and you'll not only receive FREE shipping, you'll also receive a FREE doll carrier backpack. This offer is good until Dec. 12, 2014.

Visit Jessica and Deanna at their next show and see them in action! They will be at the Schaumburg Park Foundation Holiday Bazaar tomorrow, December 2nd, at the Schaumburg Corporate Center, 1501 Woodfield Rd.

Now it's GIVEAWAY time!  If you'd like to win the Jessica College Savings Doll featured above complete with travel bag and in plenty of time for Christmas, simply comment below what your child may want to be when they grow up.  Are they wanting to be a vet? An astronaut?  A chef?

Rules: You must be a subscriber of Skokie.MacaroniKid.com to enter.  You must be 18 to enter. Winner will be chosen at random on December 10th at noon and notified immediately.

Happy saving!
